

Power Loss During Storms
If you lost power during the storm, please make sure to check that all appliances are turned off including stoves and ovens before leaving your home. Fires have occurred before when residents forgot to turn off ovens and ranges and left their homes. Once power was restored, ovens and ranges were turned back on while nobody was home and this led to numerous fires.


Samsung Recalls Top-Load Washing Machines Due to Fire Hazard; Software Repair Available
This recall involves several models of Samsung’s top-load washers with super speed wash. The washers were sold in white, black, champagne, and ivory colors and include model series WA49B, WA50B, WA51A, WA52A, WA54A, and WA55A. The model and serial numbers are found on the washer’s label attached to the inside of the top lid. An additional label is located on the rear of the washer. Guilford Professional Firefighters Respond To Killingworth
Busy day for D-Shift yesterday. Guilford Professional Firefighters responded for mutual aid to the town of Killingworth for assistance with a high angle rope rescue. Guilford Professional Firefighters are specially trained in many specialized emergency capabilities including high angle rescue. A report of a hiker and their dog slid off a 40 foot cliff and the dog was stranded on a small ledge halfway down the cliff. Killingworth Fire Department was in the scene and special ca


Another Marine Emergency
Another marine call for guilford professional firefighters. Today Marine 10 was dispatched for a 17 foot vessel taking in water south of Indian Cove. Firefighters arrived on the scene to find that the two people on board were rescued by good Samaritans. Marine 10 towed the vessel back in safely to Brownsville yard.


Guilford Professional Firefighter's Recognized
Today, Guilford Professional Firefighters were presented with unit citations from Yale New Haven Health for their efforts on a medical call that occurred in front of The Dollar Store. On November 27, 2022 Rescue 1 and Medic 2 were dispatched for a report of an 83-year-old female with severe chest pain located in front of The Dollar Store in the Big Y parking lot.
