Guilford Firefighters Finish Strong In Smilow Closer To Free Ride

This past Saturday members of The Guilford Fire Department gave it their all by participating in the Closer To Free Ride to benefit Smilow Cancer Center Research. Captain Stacey Hubbard led the pack as the Guilford Team (Carl's Crusaders ) finished strong. Carl's Crusaders was created by Stacey Hubbard after her husband a volunteer firefighter with Guilford passed away from cancer two years ago. "This was an amazing experience to be part of and I can't wait to do it again next year", said Jim Considine a Firefighter / Paramedic with Guilford who finished the race after pedaling over one hundred and four miles in six hours ten minutes.
