Funeral Services for Guilford Firefighter Michael Terrio

It is with profound sadness that the Town of Guilford and the Guilford Fire Department announce the passing of Firefighter Michael Terrio. Michael served his community with dedication and courage, and he will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and fellow firefighters.

We wish to share the details of the wake and funeral services so that members of the public, family, and the fire service community may pay their respects.

Wake

Date: Thursday, August 28, 2025Location: Swan Funeral Home, 825 Boston Post Road, Madison, CT

• Visiting hours: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM

• All fire department personnel are requested to assemble outside Swan Funeral Home at 5:45 PM in Class A uniforms.

• Members will form up across the street from the funeral home with Guilford Squad 1 and Madison Hose Engine 2-5-1.

• At 6:00 PM, personnel will proceed into the funeral home, led by the Chief Officers of the Guilford Fire Department and the Madison Fire Department.

At this time, no outside fire apparatus will be involved in the wake or funeral services.

Funeral Service

Date: Friday, August 29, 2025Time: 10:00 AMLocation: St. Margaret Church, 24 Academy Street, Madison, CT

• Parking and shuttle buses will be available at the Madison Train Station, 77 Bradley Road.

• Shuttle buses will depart promptly at 9:15 AM and proceed to St. Margaret Church.

• Following the Mass, a funeral procession will travel from St. Margaret Church to West End Cemetery, Boston Post Road at Jannas Lane, Madison, CT.

Reception

A reception will be held at Martin Bishop Field, 111 Long Hill Road, Guilford, CT beginning at approximately 1:00 PM.
