Assistant Chief Wayne Vetre Memorial Scholarship
The Wayne D. Vetre Memorial Scholarship is given in memory of Guilford Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief, Wayne Vetre. Wayne enjoyed mentoring younger fire fighters and providing a high level of training and education to those starting out in their career. Founded by his widow, Jacklyn A. Belmonte, this scholarship is being offered to an enrolled University of New Haven student pursuing a college degree in public safety. The fund is managed by The Community Foundation of Greater New Haven. Donors may contribute online safely and securely at www.cfgnh.org/vetrefund.
