Guilford Fire Department Hiring Firefighters
The Guilford Fire Department has announced today that there will be a competitive exam for the position of Firefighter. Information and applications are listed below:
TOWN OF GUILFORD HELP WANTED FIREFIGHTER/EMT and FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC
All applicants are required to submit with their application, copies of the following documentation:
1. State of Connecticut EMT-B Certification or Paramedic License (with medical control authorization in the State of Connecticut)
2. Valid State of Connecticut Driver’s License 3. State of Connecticut Firefighter I Certification 4. Documentation of having Interior Firefighter status 5. High School Diploma or GED
CPAT is NOT required to take the written or oral exam, however, candidate must provide Valid CPAT Card prior to Conditional Job Offer. The required Valid CPAT Card must be valid between May 01, 2016 and July 31, 2018. If CPAT is taken outside of Connecticut the card must be from an IAFF / IAFC licensed and approved CPAT program. The list of these programs is available on the Connecticut State Fire Administration web site.
The Town of Guilford will be conducting written testing as part of the hiring process. The test will be based primarily on IFSTA Essentials of Firefighting, 6th edition. The written examination is scheduled for Friday, May 20, 2016.
ONLY APPLICANTS WHO PASS THE WRITTEN EXAM WILL BE ASKED BACK FOR AN INTERVIEW
Job descriptions and applications are available below or from the Human Resources Department, Town Hall, 31 Park Street, Guilford, CT and must be returned to the Human Resources Department no later than 3:00p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2016.
A NON-REFUNDABLE APPLICATION FEE OF FIFTY ($50.00) DOLLARS MUST BE INCLUDED WITH THE APPLICATION. ONLY CHECKS OR MONEY ORDERS MADE OUT TO THE “TOWN OF GUILFORD” (NO CASH) WILL BE ACCEPTED.
In the event a check is returned for insufficient funds, the corresponding applicant will be disqualified.
