Chief Michael Shove

Welcome to the Guilford Fire Department’s main website. It is an honor to serve as Fire Chief and Fire Marshal for the Town of Guilford and to lead the dedicated career and volunteer members who serve our community every day.

The Guilford Fire Department has a proud history of service, built upon generations of members who have committed themselves to protecting the lives and property of our residents and visitors. While our department continues to grow and evolve to meet the changing needs of our community, our commitment to service remains constant.

Our mission is to provide the highest quality fire protection, emergency medical services, fire prevention, safety education, emergency response, and community service possible. We accomplish that mission through professional training, preparedness, teamwork, and the responsible use of the resources entrusted to us by the community.

At the foundation of everything we do are our core values of Honor, Integrity, and Courage. These values guide how we serve the public, how we treat one another, and how we make decisions. They reflect both the proud traditions of those who served before us and the standards we expect from every member of the Guilford Fire Department today.

As our community changes, so must our department. We remain committed to continually evaluating our operations, investing in our people, strengthening our partnerships with other public safety agencies, and preparing for the challenges of tomorrow. Whether responding to an emergency, providing medical care, conducting a fire inspection, educating the public, or simply helping a resident in need, our goal is to provide professional, compassionate, and dependable service.

I encourage you to explore our website and social media to learn more about our department, our members, our services, and the many programs we provide to the community.

On behalf of the entire Guilford Fire Department, thank you for your continued trust and support. It is our privilege to serve you.
