Guilford Citizen Presented With Certificate Of Commendation

On Tuesday night, Guilford Fire Department Board Of Fire Commissioners had the pleasure of presenting Jonathon Bartlett with a Certificate Of Commendation after his lifesaving actions helped save a persons life. On the afternoon of October 29th, 2016, Jonathon Bartlett performed a lifesaving action at a residence on Long Hill Road. Jonathon was inside the house when he noticed his neighbor trapped under his tractor in a nearby creek. Jonathon quickly ran to his neighbors aid entering the creek and lifting the 1500 pound tractor off his neighbor. Jonathon immediately assisted his neighbor into the house and notified the fire department. Guilford Fire Department transported the neighbor to Yale New Haven Hospital where he was treated for his injuries. Members of The Guilford Fire Department were present as well as family, friends, and Jonathon's neighbor to present the award. First Selectman Joseph Mazza presented an award from the First Selectman's office recognizing his heroic efforts.
