Heavy Rescue 191:

- Guilford's new heavy rescue was put out to bid in November of 2007 with multiple manufactures competing for the project. After reviewing each companies bid Pierce mfg was deemed the best fit for the Guilford Fire Department. Below is some brief information on the new rig, more information will be to follow.

  • Pierce Arrow XT Chassis w\Flat Roof
  • 20' Walk Around Rescue Box w\upper coffin compartments.
  • Detroit Series 60 motor
  • Allison Transmission
  • 30,000lb rear pintle hitch
  • Upper body high point anchors
  • Side mount receivers for 8000lb winch
  • 20,000lb front and rear hydraulic winches
  • 35kw single stage generator
  • 200cfm Van Air compressor system

 

January 2009

The Guilford Fire Department has taken delivery of the new Rescue one, the truck will remain in house to be outfitted with all tools and equipment before being placed in service. Tentative date to be in service is February 1st.
