Employment News:

Guilford has received and accepted the SAFER Grant to hire 8 new firefighters. This will put 2 more firefighters on each shift starting in early 2010. Check back for future details.

Prerequisites:

>18 Years of Age

>State of Connecticut Firefighter 1 Certification

>Interior Firefighter (Documentation Required)

>Valid CPAT Card (Within the last year)

>Valid State of Connecticut Drivers License

Career Staffing
-Currently we have 24 union members within the department, broken up into 6 firefighters per shift. - Firefighters work 24 hour shifts with 72 hours off in between shifts.
